Love Swiss Diamond and have several pieces. Quality cookware!I owe many pots and pans from this manufacturer . They are the best! Swiss quality, extremely easy to clean , nothing stick !Perfect size.I know it looks strange to give it 5 star ratings on the features, but only 4 stars overall, but I will have to get used to watching out for steam burns from the in-the-knob vent. As for durability, only time will tell. Otherwise, it's the exact size pan I was looking for. I wanted the depth for wilting down greens as I usually end up with them all over when I try to toss so they can cook evenly. So I never write reviews (this is my first one), but this pan deserves it. Aside from my Shun knives, this is the best and most important item in my kitchen. I used to mess around with cheap sets of non-stick, such as Rachael Ray, Fagor, etc. I realized that I was using the saute pan more than anything else to the point of it wearing out, then ended up replacing the whole set. Finally, it dawned on me, why not just buy one really nice saute pan since I use it all the time? After much research I decided on this Swiss Diamond. It is AMAZING. Nothing sticks to it, you literally don't have to scrub it at all, just use a sprayer and dry it off and you are done. The heat distribution is far superior than anything I have used. I honestly believe the food I am cooking is better - and my family agrees. My advice is to buy a cheap set of non-stick so you have everything you need, but get a really nice saute pan of good size like this one. You won't regret it!Great workhorse for 10 years. Loved the lid. Perfect size for skillet dinners (4-6 servings), tossing pasta in sauce, and large dishes for company. While not particularly as "non-stick" as advertised, still easier to clean than my other pans. Was way too heavy and I'd often need help emptying it into a serving dish and struggled with handling it while washing in the sink. Also developed rusty patches that would not scrub off (for either of us) but would still soil a paper towel rubbed over it. Decided it was time to replace it. Disappointed at this price that it didn't have better non-stickiness nor last long enough to be buried with me. :(I needed a deep sauté pan. Frying pans are too shallow for me. This one was the perfect size and depth. It heats up well and cleans easily.Since I purchased one of these in 2010, it has been my favorite (and most used) pan. I use it 3-4 times per week on anything from asian stir fry to German Rolladen to frying bacon, breakfast potatoes and frying eggs. After 7 years of consistent abuse, we noticed fried eggs don't release quite as well, so we'll be purchasing another one of these soon.* The heat is more even than any other pan I've tried.* The handle is very comfortable, too, which helps bringing it to the table loaded with food (which it keeps nice and warm through the meal).* I really like the adjustable vent on the lid. For something like a thai eggplant dish, I start with it closed to keep the moisture in and then open it to reduce the moisture once the eggplant is almost done. This is an exceptionally well made pan that is not too heavy with a substantial base, it requires low levels of heat, most people ruin them with a gas burner that is oversized and if the manufacturers instructions are followed will last a life time. Require very little or no oil and I’ve cooked a fried egg with no oil with success. I cannot fault it.The pan is nice. Very heave and durable. I am disappointed in the non-stick element. It was perfect for 2 months and then has slowly deteriorated. We have now had it for about 6 months and it is getting difficult to clean. This would be okay for a normal pan, but for this cost, I expected to have a pan with wonderful non-stick for at least a year or two. We use the pan 4-5 times a week so it does get good usage. I have been very careful using only plastic and wood cooking implements and no abrasive cleaners.
